Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria is a non-profit organization that serves children and youth in the Victoria Capital Region. Their mission is to "... positively affect our community by providing mentoring programs for children and youth, which enhance their sense of belonging, self-worth, resiliency and capacity to make healthy, well-informed choices."

BBBS’s goal is to provide "...sustainable quality mentoring experiences for every child or youth who expresses a desire to have a mentor that starts within 2 months of the request and has an impact that lasts a lifetime."
BBBS matches and adult "Big" with a youth "Little" in the community. These matches, based on similar interests, initiate a friendship founded on respect and trust. The volunteers and youth involved in the BBBS programs have the opportunity to "Share a Little Magic", those wonderful moments shared between a trusted friend.
To be a "Big" you do not need any special skills, money, or experience. A desires, and willingness to spend time with a child, listen, mentor and advocate for that child is all that is required. BBBS offers a number of programs that one can volunteer for. Time commitments vary and you can chose the program that best suites you. The In-School Mentoring Program only requires 1 hour a week and the Community Programs can go up to 3 hours a week for one calendar year. It is BBBS experience that many matches last longer than a year, and the positive effect of the mentorship lasts a lifetime.
